Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal for snake plants, but they can tolerate low light conditions very well. Very dark spaces and full sun for extended periods of time (more than 2-3 hours) should be avoided. 

Water: Let soil completely dry between waterings. Allowing the roots to remain wet for long periods of time will lead to root rot.
